I will get back to consistent blogging just as soon as I have access to a higher speed internet connection.

In case you can’t tell, it is of our unique looking incense burner, a terra-cotta flower-pot, and a dvd.

Not perfect, but definitely my style.

My brother-in-law was driving his dad’s Ford Ranger around, but then ended up not really needing it anymore. Over Christmas he mentioned just getting rid of it when I spoke up. The Ranger is in better shape than the Toyota, and will thus be easier to get street legal; it also is an automatic, making it easier for me to drive.

Anyhow, my brother-in-law offered to trade me the Ranger for the Toyota straight across, which I agreed to. Now I have a truck that runs and will be ready to go out in the spring.

The Ranger needs some work on its four-wheel-drive but that is its only problem.

True to form, the Ranger now has a name. Its name is Truck Norris. I take little responsibility for this one. Mr. Wild started calling it that, and it just kind of stuck.

I don’t have a picture of Truck Norris where it’s not covered in snow, but here’s what it kind of looks like.

When I do the repair on Truck Norris, I will do a post about it.

Okay, now that I’ve cleared that up, here is this month’s picture.

Yes, this is what the first of March looks like around here this year. I know I don’t look very happy in this picture, but it is hard to take a picture of yourself.

I’m not sure of what put me over the top, but I have a sneaking suspicion it is my use of Linux.

Obviously it’s a scarf. It looks like that all the way down. I didn’t bother to put fringe on it since I think it looks just fine without it.

Here is a picture that shows the colors a lot better.

The yarn was a Christmas gift from my parents. The color is called Mexicana and it is from Red Heart.

There among the crochet hooks and knitting needles was this.

I eyeballed it for a while before Mr. Wild picked it up and shoved it into my hands telling me that we weren’t walking out without it. I wasn’t about to argue with that.

Anyway, I am almost done with one project on it already. I plan to finish it today, so I will have something to share tomorrow.

Goal 26 is “build a snowman”.

Here is some photographic proof.

The “buttons” are charcoal briquettes, the arms are a couple of sticks, the face was made from three maple seeds and a stick and the scarf is an old rag.

I liked the color a lot and decided to do a semi-large project with it. I finally decided on a shawl.

My first attempt was just a freehand triangle shape and was an abysmal failure. It was frogged before it was even halfway done.

Then I grew a brain and decided to look around online for a good pattern for a triangle-shaped shawl. I finally found one at my skill level HERE.

I made some minor changes to the pattern to get it the way I liked it. First, I used a much larger hook since the shawl ended up being too short with the hook the pattern called for. The larger hook also helped the shawl drape differently. The pattern calls for an H hook and I used a P hook.

Second, I did not use the top border since every time I tried it, it just looked silly.

Anyhow, without further ado, here’s my version of the shawl.
